August 15, 2009 10Km / 5Km  run-walk for the whole family in beautiful Glenwood, AB.

Always looking for ways to build stronger family and community bonds. That, along with a desire to see a more active lifestyle promoted, brought about the Glenwood FunRun. So the Village of Glenwood's Recreation Board gave birth to an activity that would encorporate all of these ideas into one.

"The first year was an amazing success." comments Village Councillor, Sandy Lybbert. "We had so many fantastic volunteers. Entries came in from Lethbridge to the Crowsnest Pass. It was wonderful!"

   Looking for ways to make this run a little different than the others, Rec Board Treasurer, Kathy Thomas suggested that filled gas cans might provide an interesting incentive at the finish line. Gas combined with generous donations of food, T-shirts, and prizes came from local sponsors.
  Glenwood is looking forward to kicking off another year of fun and prizes as it hosts its second annual Glenwood Fun Run. Families as well as individuals are invited to participate in this scenic run. We're confident that everyone who participates, in whatever capacity will "have a gas".
